Best Planned Developments in Mt. Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is home to many master planned communities. Varying in size and amenities, each offers a full menu of choices to you and your family for a full life.

The Town of Mount Pleasant has stringent development guidelines and has limited the permitting of new neighborhoods. The Town is restricting development permits to 600 per year because of the boom in growth. Since 1990, according to the Post and Courier, the town’s growth has almost tripled.

Carolina Park

Dunes West

Dunes West is a community of diverse housing options with homes ranging in price from $200K to more than $3 million. Residents enjoy a country club lifestyle with championship golf course, two pools, fitness center, tennis courts and many play areas. There is also a racquet club, boat storage, a crab dock and many miles of walking and biking trails as well as a club house. The parkway entering the community gives a sense of Lowcountry as it is flanked with beautiful oak trees and verdant grounds. A number of new home builders are currently building in the vast community. 


Charleston National

This golf-centric community is located on the Intracoastal Waterway. Homes in the community range from the mid-$300K to over a million. The neighborhood offers 2 pools, and a full range of amenities including tennis courts and fitness center.  Architectural styles are traditional and include all brick homes, Charleston single house styles, bungalows, Lowcountry-style homes on pilings, and townhomes too.  The current media sales price in the community approaches $400K. Lot sizes are generous and you’ll find homes with 4 to 5 bedrooms are common.

Belle Hall

Belle Hall with over 1,000 homes, is known for the beautiful ponds, trails and landscaping. The community is situated along a creek with marsh views. It is easy to access from I-526 and Longpoint Road. Architectural styles range from typical Lowcountry homes to colonial styles. Home prices range from the low $300s to over a million.
